Why Lizzy Tested...

How Lizzy Tested...
Over the course of two months, I rotated a new Sonsie product into my skincare routine each day to really see its effects. I took notes on my skin's texture, tone, and hydration levels along the way.

Cleansing Mousse. The first thing I noticed about this mousse was its deliciously soft and silky texture. It felt like washing your face with a cloud. It’s lightweight and extremely gentle on my skin, unlike other grainier cleansers I’ve tried in the past. I also like that it has soothing aloe vera juice to keep my skin extra hydrated. ($32)
Super Serum. This is hands-down my favorite product of the bunch. It’s hydrating but dries super quickly, making it ideal to layer under makeup. I used it daily, but since it absorbs so well, I ended up going through the (gorgeous) bottle pretty quickly. At $64, it’s a bit of an investment, but I’m happy to report it’s worth it for a product that will get so much use. ($64)
Adapt Cream. I have mixed feelings about this one. I turned to it on days when my skin was red or just plain irritated and it was a big help. The “playful green tint” is meant to combat redness — which it did — but it didn’t fully blend and left faint green spots. For that reason, I wouldn’t wear this out of the house. It’s also considered “mid-weight,” but it’s one of the heavier creams I’ve tried. ($58)
Multi Moisture Cream. I already know this cream will be my winter-skin hero. It’s as nourishing as it is rich — and it’s Succession-level rich. I loved using it overnight when the air in my home felt exceptionally dry, and I’d wake up with hydrated skin that didn’t feel greasy. I’m excited to have this on hand when the dreaded New York winter hits. ($48)
Basic Balm. This lip balm is anything but basic. It’s ultra hydrating, but instead of leaving a thick residue, it leaves a high-shine glossy finish. I wouldn’t necessarily use this as an overnight treatment because I don’t think it’s that long-lasting given how lightweight it is. Instead, I’d stash it in my bag for a quick hydrating swipe throughout the day. ($22)

Cleansing Mousse. This product feels like a dream. The texture is so silky and really made my face feel clean, but not stripped, after use. The glass bottle also made it feel incredibly luxe, although I found the pump handle would often jam. I didn’t use this to remove a full face of makeup, but rather on light makeup days or in the morning, so I can't speak to its full makeup-removing capabilities. That said, the citrus scent was a perfect morning pick-me-up. ($32)
Super Serum. This product feels elevated based on the packaging alone. I loved how it was fairly lightweight, and it seemed like there was no wrong way to use it (day or night, mixed with moisturizer or alone, you can't go wrong). ($64)
Adapt Cream. I’ve used a few green-tinted moisturizers in the past and they typically blend nicely. This cream didn't, which made me wonder whether the green tint was actually effective. But the texture was lovely and worked on my sensitive skin, even if I was having a breakout, redness, or irritation. ($58)
Multi Moisture Cream. I loved this product, especially at the start of the year when New York was going through one of its worst winters. It felt so rich, and I loved being able to use less or more depending on what my skin needed that day. Sometimes I would just do a light layer, other times I would load on more for a bit of a “mask” effect. I also loved that the packaging allowed me to use up every last drop, which I definitely did. ($48)
Basic Balm. I prefer my balms on the thicker side, but I loved how easily this glided on and the high-shine, glossy finish. It was the perfect last step in my daytime routine. ($22)

Sidenotes...
Sustainability. We really appreciate the fact that Sonsie is plastic-negative, meaning they remove more plastic from the earth than they use. Their packaging is also recyclable. According to their site, co-founder Pamela Anderson throws the Adapt Cream’s plant-based packaging in her garden compost for later use.
Ingredients. Sonsie’s formulas are vegan, cruelty-free, and paraben-free. Each product is made under EU standards (they prohibit or restrict the use of over 1300 harmful ingredients, whereas the US restricts or bans fewer than 30). Every product is also formulated and dermatologically tested for all skin types.
Brand mission. As we mentioned, we're obsessed with Ms. Pam’s return to the red carpet scene. Her new brand is about embracing authenticity in the beauty industry, highlighting the differences that make us unique, and knowing your worth. Love.
