I work from home full time, and many of my coworkers are working hybrid. Because of that, our team of editors (myself included) have become quite passionate about stylish, yet comfortable work from home pants that aren’t leggings. These 19 options will make you feel put-together and cute at home, without feeling overly stiff, uncomfortable, or suffocated — which you should never feel in any article of clothing…like, ever.

I’ve spoken about my love for Levi’s Wedgie Straight Ankle Jeans countless times now, but they really are the best. They have a slim straight leg that isn’t overly skinny, and they mold to your shape with every wear. Which somehow makes them feel like sweatpants. Trust me on this. ($98, Levi’s)

This is the first of many drawstring pants you’ll see on this list, but this Old Navy pair is unbeatable when it comes to versatility. They come in multiple sizes, lengths, and fabric styles (including chambray and faux leather). We’re particularly excited about the brown plaid pair and the stellar price. ($39.99+, Old Navy)

I’ve been itching to buy a pair of pointelle pants for months now. It feels like all the cool girls are wearing them…and I have FOMO. They’re glorified pajama pants, but there’s something about the pointelle texture and drapey silhouette that makes them look chic with an oversized knit. Leave it to H&M to dupe all the designer versions I can’t justify spending hundreds of dollars on. ($19.99, H&M)

Our Senior Commerce Writer told me that she recently stole these from her boyfriend, making them the best baggy sweats that don’t make her feel sloppy during work days. They’re made of a heavyweight, soft jersey, so if you want to get in a workout in between meetings, these are perfect for that. ($128, Lululemon)

These Gilmore pants are showing up all over my socials, and now I need a pair. They’re made of a fine rib material that drapes nicely, which makes them still feel like trousers. Style them how the brand does with an oversized polo and a chunky pair of loafers. PS: These are currently on Artizia’s site for preorder and should ship by early January. ($68, Aritzia)

The way I was floored when I stumbled across these washable silk pants from Quince. I truly thought they were Reformation the first time I saw them. Wear them with a cozy button-down and slippers by day and kitten heels by night. Thank god for soft pants. ($89.90, Quince)

Our Commerce Director has this Auden pajama set from Target. She says that, in a darker color, you can absolutely get away with wearing the pants in lieu of sweats or leggings for long WFH days, especially because they’re ribbed. I’m eyeing the chocolate brown pair. ($40, Target)

I bought these kick flare pants from Quince and I adore them for WFH. While they’re technically legging material, the cropped cut reminds me of Donni’s Rib Kick Flare Trousers at a fraction of the cost. Bonus points for being able to take a midday walk without having to change. Just like our Commerce Director’s tip from above, go for a darker shade to make them feel even more like hard pants. ($39.90, Quince)

These sweatpants from H&M have a wide leg that makes them feel like glorified trousers. We’d suggest tucking the drawstrings in (or removing them entirely) to keep your outfit looking and feeling sleek. ($19.99, H&M)

If you’re really wanting a hard pant as opposed to a soft pant cosplaying as trousers, might I suggest a barrel jean? They’ll have you feeling like you’re wearing real clothes (because you are), but the baggy silhouette will keep you comfortable. I swear by this pair from Old Navy and the army green version of these from petite-friendly brand Nelle Atelier.

Yeah, we know. Rag & Bone’s Miramar Pants are expensive, but we can confirm that there’s nothing like them. If you quite literally want to wear a pair of sweatpants that are printed to look like jeans, these are the ones for you (and are worth the investment, we promise). ($198.00, Amazon)

Don’t sleep on a solid pair of sweater pants. They’re somewhere between a legging and a sweatpant, but they’re nice enough to wear to the office — especially on work days where you start at home and end at the office. Pro tip: Check out Ann Taylor’s Weekend collection for the best curation of chic soft pants. ($54.50, Ann Taylor)

Spanx has sweats, and they’re actually the best. My mom swears by them for their stylish silhouettes, including this matching half-zip. Its AirEsssentials fabric is substantial and comes in a variety of cuts. Buy them for long work days at home, weekend errands, or intense travel days. While pricey, they wash well and are worth it from a cost-per-wear perspective. ($118, Spanx)

Raise your hand if you went through a gaucho phase in middle school. If you did, you probably need these pants from FP Movement. While they’re full length, they remind us of gauchos for their ultra-flowy vibe. If you’re looking for a more affordable dupe, try these. Hello, period pants. ($128, FP Movement)

These Alex Anywear Pants from Dynamite are quite literally trousers made out of sweatpant material, even down to the pleating, zippers, pockets, and belt loops. BRB, buying in every single color. ($69.95, Dynamite)

One of our editors calls J.Crew’s Soleil Pants her “emotional support soft pants,” and for that, we stand in solidarity. Even though they’re made of an airy linen, we still think you can wear them at home year round. Once again, go for the black for seasonal versatility. ($98, J.Crew)
