Anna Davies has spent her career explaining other people's money, feelings, and teenage vampire love triangles — often all in the same week. She's held senior editorial roles at Cosmopolitan, Refinery29, and The New York Post. She's also a solo parent, which means she has a PhD-level understanding of budgeting, chaos management, and how many snacks are "enough" (there is no correct answer).

At theSkimm, she primarily focuses on health content. In a previous life, Anna ghostwrote for the Gossip Girl and Vampire Diaries book series, which she will insist was "just a job" but will also bring up unprompted at dinner parties. Her personal essays — the ones with her actual name attached — have appeared in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Elle, and Glamour, usually about topics that make for better writing than they did for living through at the time.

Long before any of that, Anna was a crisis hotline counselor throughout high school and spent her twenties as a camp counselor at a pediatric oncology camp — early lessons in showing up for people during hard moments that still shape how she writes today.

Anna has also trained for a marathon, finished eight half-marathons, and completed three triathlons, and loves a sweaty yoga class. Her relationship with surfing remains unresolved: she loves the ocean, the ocean does not seem to love her back, and she keeps showing up anyway. She also loves to travel, mostly as a way to prove to herself that she can survive without wifi for more than six hours (results are mixed).

Anna's superpower is taking complicated or intimidating topics — money, motherhood, endurance sports — and making them feel like something you can talk about instead of panic over.
