What I Tested…

  • Original Placemat with Straps ($30)

  • Bottle Bungee ($10)

  • Bib & Utensils ($24)

Why I Tested…

Why I tested

How I tested…

I’ve been using the mat with its straps, the bottle bungee, and bib regularly at home and on the go for over a month. I’ve tried the placemat on different surfaces to see how well it sticks.

Test Results…

  • Original mat with straps. This silicone suction placemat works. I’ve used it on plastic (including our high chair), glass, and wood (as long as it’s smooth), and the mat typically sticks to the table during the whole meal. It comes with four tethers (straps) for toys, teethers, or Busy Baby utensils (specifically made for tethers).

  • Bottle bungee. One word: Genius. Seriously, I wish I had this for my first kid, too. The bungee is long and stretchy and works on most sippy cup sizes. Connect it to the placemat, bib, stroller, or car seat. Even if it falls (or your baby aggressively throws it), the cup won’t touch the ground. If only I could stop him from throwing his food.

  • Bib & utensils. A great option if you’re on the go and don’t necessarily have a smooth surface or want to take the mat. The silicone bib is a little big, but it’s easy to clean and store. It comes with two tethers for toys, utensils, or the bottle bungee.

Sidenotes…

  • Easy to clean. All three products are made with 100% food-grade silicone that’s soft, flexible, and dishwasher-safe.

  • Placemat pro tip. The silicone material loves to attract every speck of dust and dirt, so make sure you keep the bottom of the mat and suction cups as clean as possible so it sticks better. A baby wipe will do the trick.

  • 2-in-1 teether and training spoon ($15). I love that it has a gripped handle for little hands and a textured spoon head. My son mostly uses this as a teether, and I love that I can attach it to the bib or mat and know that it won’t end up on the floor.

The Fine Details…

  • Busy Baby is woman- and veteran-owned

  • The placemats will not work with the Lalo or Stokke Tripp Trapp high chairs

  • Products come in five fun colors

  • $4.99 for standard shipping

  • Original Placemat with Straps ($30)

  • Bottle Bungee ($10)

  • Bib & Utensils ($24)
